IP address on a PLC - QUESTION!

If I want to assign a new dynamic IP address on a PLC, which already had a static IP address, in order to communicate over a network, will it remove the static IP address and stop the PLC’s communication with other devices?

It depends on the ports of the PLC. Each port can either be static or dynamic. A PLC that has 2 ports can have a static and dynamic IP. If you assign a dynamic IP to a currently static port, you’ll overwrite that.

I hope that helps…
