Hey everyone,
How can you find out which version of Factory Talk would work on a machine I’ve never connected to before?

Hey Mo.s,
By adding the terminal into RSLinx, you should be able to see it in the tree. Once you have that in place, you can right-click the device and look into the properties. In the properties you’ll see the firmware revision of the terminal which would indicate which version of the application you’ll need to create.
Alternatively, you can boot up the terminal to the main screen and the firmware should be displayed there.
Lastly, if you don’t have the actual terminal, you can search the Rockwell Compatibility Centre for the part number to figure out which versions would be compatible. Note that this will give you a range of firmware revisions for that specific type of terminal; it may be flashed to any of them.
Cheers,
Vlad
Hey Vlad,
thanks a lot for the detailed response! The first method you mentioned actually worked great.
